About Me

Compassionate Counseling for Mothers Healing from Birth Trauma in Raleigh

Hi, I’m Victoria Edgington, a licensed counselor in Raleigh who specializes in helping mothers heal after traumatic or difficult births.

Before becoming a therapist, I was drawn to the strength and vulnerability that come with motherhood. I saw how much women carry, often silently, after birth experiences that didn’t go as planned. I became passionate about helping mothers find peace, self-trust, and connection again — not by ignoring the pain, but by making space for it and transforming it.

In my practice, I combine EMDR therapy with a compassionate, relational approach. That means we go beyond just treating symptoms. We honor your story, your body, and your emotions with care and curiosity. I’ll meet you where you are, helping you feel safe enough to explore what’s happened and hopeful enough to imagine what’s next.

Clients often describe working with me as a deep exhale — a place where they finally feel seen, understood, and no longer alone. You can bring every part of your experience here, even the pieces you’ve never said out loud.

Get Started

On a personal note…

When I’m not in therapy mode, you will find me doing my best to keep up with my VERY energetic children or spending time with my amazing husband (that is, if we are actually coherent by the time we get the kids to bed).

In our past life, my husband and I loved to travel the world, have wine and sushi nights, watch Parks and Rec, and find the best coffee wherever we went. These days, there’s little less of that (except the coffee part), but we still love spending time together.

When I have some alone time, I love drinking my coffee hot, having time to reflect, walks with my sister or a friend, time to read or do a training, or watching reality tv in bed with some Thai food.

Take the First Step Toward Healing After Birth Trauma

If your birth experience still feels heavy or painful, reaching out is the first brave step toward healing. You don’t have to have the right words or a clear plan — just the willingness to start.

Here’s how to begin:

  1. Schedule a consultation: Click below to request a free 15-minute phone or video call.

  2. Ask your questions: We’ll talk about what’s been hard, what you’re hoping for, and how therapy can help.

  3. Decide together: You’ll get a sense of what working together might feel like before scheduling your first session.

Let’s make space for you to feel calm, connected, and whole again.

Your story deserves care, not comparison. Therapy can help you reclaim your peace and write a new chapter of strength and healing.
